Caleb's Story

Caleb spent his teen years in the small community of Florence Colorado. He graduated from high school and married his high school sweetheart, Katie.
After graduating from high school Caleb stayed in Florence Colorado, he worked at the local grocery store and married Katie.
As it is with most young people, Caleb and Katie had hopes and dreams. In the 8th grade Caleb had decided to be a stand up comedian. Katie wanted to work in veterinary medicine, so they moved to Aurora Colorado, a suburb of Denver. Caleb got a job with the hopes of joining the thriving Denver comedy scene. Katie started going to veterinary school.
Then Katie became pregnant. It was unexpected, but it was something they eventually wanted, so they were happy for the blessing bestowed upon them. They even found out that they were having a boy and they decided to name him Hugo.
Then Caleb, Katie and Baby Hugo did what normal people do, went on with their lives. Caleb worked for Walmart, then Target, then Walmart again. It sounds like a lot of changes but each time he was able to make a little more money and make a little more time to pursue his love of comedy. Katie continued to go to school and take care of herself in preparation for Baby Hugo's arrival.
Then came a big week. The week that started Monday July 18th. Caleb was entered in the biggest comedy contest in Denver held at the Comedy Works. Katie and Caleb were going to welcome Baby Hugo into the world on Sunday July 22.
Caleb appeared at the Comedy Works on Wednesday night July 18th. He did well enough to advanced to the next round. He and Katie were excited to welcome Baby Hugo into the world, but decide to treat themselves to one last thing before they "officially" became parents. They decided to be among the first people in Denver to see the newest Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises".
They were having the normal opening night movie experience. They stood anxiously in line, spent too much on popcorn and soda, suffered through the movie trailers and watched the beginning of the movie. That is when evil struck.
Evil came to them through a man that opened fire in that theater. Many people were killed, even more were injured. Katie and Baby Hugo made it uninjured, but Caleb was struck in the face by the gun fire.
Now Caleb is in the hospital. He has lost his right eye, has some brain damage and doctors have put him in a medically induced coma.
Caleb, Katie and Baby Hugo need your help. They need your prayers and good thoughts but unfortunately, they will also need financial assistance. These are hard times for everyone, but if you are here; you are here because you are interested in what happened to Caleb. You are here because you have a good heart.
If you are in financial stress and can only support Caleb through prayer or by sending him your good thoughts, thank you. If you are able to help financially, thank you for that too. Any amount is helpful, even a dollar will help. Just click on the button below.
